Emma plays Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan in this new film about a college student who comes home to Jackson, Miss., and sees old traditions in a new light, The Huffington Post reports.
She writes as a columnist for the local paper and fights for the black household maids who are terribly discriminated against.
The film also stars Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney and Sissy Spacek and was based on the controversial best seller of the same name.
