Who CF?

As I've stated two times prior, the University of Central Florida Golden Knights are not that good a basketball team.  Sure they beat almost every school in the state of Florida that they've played (including then-#18 Florida).  If you want, read these two posts before you finish this one:

I said in the January 22nd post that they'd go 1-3 over their next four games - they lost to Rice, Memphis, and UAB.  UTEP is on deck tomorrow night - in El Paso - where the Miners are 14-1 this year.  UTEP is 17-5 on the year (5-2 C-USA) and are coming off a last-second loss at Tulsa.  (For the record, UTEP has only played one ranked team this season (losing to then-#23 BYU 89-68)).

UCF has fallen from contender status to pretender status over the course of the six games.  They're still having a decent year at 14-6 but any time you start off 14-0, the last thing you'd expect is a 6-game skid - especially in conference.  Check your ego guys, you're not that good.  They're sure to surpass last years 15-17 record (including C-USA tourney), but still, this team should be disappointed with their performances as of late.

Through the first 14 games (all wins), they failed to score 70 points five times.
Through the first 14 games (all wins), they held opponents under 70 points thirteen times.

Over the past 6 games (all losses), they've failed to score 70 points five times.
Over the past 6 games (all losses), they've held opponents under 70 points one time.

When things are bad, things are bad.  They're in the cellar in the C-USA standings.  And they still have to play UAB, Memphis, and Southern Miss - three of the top four teams in the league.

Good luck.
